Being southern born and raised I have drunk my fair share of tea. It's always been iced sweet tea with lemon - that's pretty much the official drink of the south. Believe it or not my mother was born in New Jersey and drank lots of hot teas. So, when I found out I would be receiving a box of Stash Tea Earl Grey Tea, she was the first person to come to my mind. I can remember she would prepare tea a few different ways not having the luxury of a K-cup brewer in those days. However, I do remember a few things she would add to her cup: honey, lemon, milk or sugar.
Although I remember my mom enjoying different teas I have nothing to compare the flavor to because I do not remember trying it. This was pretty much a first for me, besides the mommy's milk tea I tried a few times. While brewing in my K-Cup Brewer it had an amazing aroma of orange that filled the room. I found the tea sweet and fruity in flavor. If you like the flavor and scent of orange it's the perfect blend. It was also very smooth with no bitter aftertaste. It is very clean and light with a delicate and fancy feel. Yes, I found myself with my pinky finger out while drinking it saying "would you like a spot of tea" to my kids. They just didn't find it as amusing as I did for some reason. I was shocked that I enjoyed the tea as much as I did, there is just something rather comforting about it. I loved the orange flavor it has and started to drink it at night before bed. I would highly recommend this to anyone that is a tea novice like myself. No, it will never replace my southern sweet tea but it is a great change when I'm in the mood for something different.
