You now have the mammoth task of planning a wedding in front of you. You and your future spouse are going to be able to tour wedding venues and attend cake tastings, choose outfits and peruse the invitation options, and you have some choices to make. You need to get a great notebook and start making lists - lists are your new best friend!
Your wedding is going to be the event of the year, and if you doubt that now you may as well quit while you’re ahead! Your wedding should be a loving, exciting and beautiful experience, and the best way to ensure that this is the case for you is to ensure that you get every detail just right. The problem is in the detail: there are so many of them, that you’re bound to forget something.
The best thing that you can do here is to make sure that you are ticking off every single job that you need to do that’s wedding related. With that in mind, here are five details that you could accidentally miss out for your wedding day if you’re not careful - and you really don’t want to skip these details!
- Something For The Kids. Believe me when I say that if you have children at your wedding, you’re going to want to keep them entertained. Children are an excellent addition to the wedding as they give you a sense of what’s to come, and they’re so cute in floaty dresses and miniature suits. However, bored children? Not so cute! You need to think about entertainment for them at the wedding venue so that you can keep them quiet at crucial moments.
- Something To Direct. Nana may still be witty and sharp, but directions really aren’t her forte. So, you need to make sure that your guests - old and young - don’t get lost between your service and your venue. You can stop that from happening by including instructions in the wedding invitations. You can also ensure that they don’t get lost with regular arrows pinned to fences and lamp posts along the route between the ceremony and venue.
- Something To Enchant. The entrance of your venue needs to be beautiful. You want the first impression that people have of your wedding to be a positive one, and the best way to make sure that happens is with an enchanting entrance. Think about floral archways or balloon arches. You want to make sure that your wedding venue is beautifully decorated and has everything necessary to welcome people.
- Something To Sign. Every wedding needs a guestbook, and yours can be beautifully put together with a little forethought. Think about doing something a bit different with photos to sign or Jenga blocks to leave a message on, and you’ll be the wedding of the year that really stands out!
- Something To Play. The venue is booked, and everything is lined up - except the DJ! You need music for your venue, and if you don’t want any of the cheesy hits, you need to make sure that you have either a great DJ or a string band lined up. You have choices - it’s time to make them!

I think of all the tips here, having something for the kids is the most important. Kids get bored easily, and the last thing you want is a bored kid.
